Lexia Snowe: Skinned

I write screenplays and fiction in the thriller, crime and sci-fi genres: American stories for international audiences.

Current Screenwriting and Fiction Projects

My current priorities in my feature-film screenwriting are my near-futuristic SWAT thriller 'Code Blue'; my fugitive action thriller 'Freight Run'; and my low-budget contained crime thriller 'The Girl Out', which I intend to direct myself in 2018. I aim to take these original motion picture projects to market in May 2017.

For TV, I have written a number of original pilot scripts. My leading projects in 2017 are: 1-hour-episodic crime thriller 'The Witness Project' (working title); spy drama 'Multiplicity'; and 30-minute comedy show 'Sell Out' (a rare comedy project).

In prose fiction, I have intricately plotted (and first-drafted) supernatural thriller 'Redondo'. A major goal of fall 2017 will be completing the next draft of the full novel. I additionally aim to polish up the detailed synopsis for my international espionage thriller novel 'The Spared'.

Other Projects

It has long been my ambition to build on my understanding of cinematic writing and to step behind the camera as director. I am slowly working toward that goal through my filmmaking outfit Benthic Pictures. I am to direct my short script 'Midnight Oil' (14 mins) in summer 2017.

Prior to film school, literary writing (short stories and poetry) was my primary output, with my first work appearing in print -- a contest-winning poem -- at age 9. I continue my life as a literary writer under name 'Winter Bel', with poetry collection 'Honeycomb (Pieces on Love)' my focal Winter Bel project in 2017. 'Honeycomb' is some 50 poems about love -- without necessarily being 'love poems' -- and will be published in spring 2018.

Brief Biography and Achievements

I'm an alumna of Oxford University and London Film School. I write full-time, although my creativity is somewhat sprawling, and I often squeeze web, design and photography projects into the fringe hours. (For example: I designed and coded all of the Lexia Snowe Arts suite of websites.)

Early drafts of my feature screenplays have placed in the Quarter Finals of the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences Nicholl Fellowships three times. My short scripts have been optioned and produced in the UK, US and Denmark, as well as placed in the Screencraft Short Script Contest 2015 (Semi Finals) and the British Comedy Short Contest 2014 (shortlisted).

In advancement of my projects, I presently split time between Los Angeles, London and Berlin. That said, I recognize that I am blessed to be able to operate with nothing but a laptop and a caffeine dealer, and so am determined to see as much as the world as possible in parallel with my writing and filmmaking. Sydney and Tokyo are on my itinerary in 2017.
